MAKE A DIFFERENCE: DONATE TO A DIAPER BANK
I’ve been feeling baby fever lately. As I inch closer to my thirties and start the wedding planning process I can’t help but think of the next steps in my life which would be… starting a family. I’ve been thinking of what it would be like to have a baby in our lives and what new things I would experience as a result. Will I be a good mom? What type of personality will our child have? Will it be a girl or a boy? Can I handle it all? The consistency of no sleep, constant feeding, and diaper changing? The questions are endless. To be honest, I know I am not quite ready yet and I know I just need to slow down and appreciate this season of preparing to be a wife first. But it doesn’t mean I can’t love on all the other babies right?
Did you know that the average family spends $70-$0 a month on diapers per child. Thats is a quite bit of money, especially for a family that is living in poverty and already struggling to make ends meet. Or think about when a natural disaster strikes and when a family is forced to leave their home and can only take so much with them. You can imagine that sooner rather than later they will run out of diapers and don’t know when will be the next time they can get more.
Thats where diaper banks help meet this need! Just like a food bank, diaper banks gives out diapers to those in need. This means that children get the care that they need and that families can continue to function with one less worry. San Diego does have a diaper bank, in which you can drop off diapers between certain hours or donate money online to buy them. A quick google search will allow you to find a diaper bank near by. Do your part and help make a difference for a family in need!
