BB READS: EVERYBODY, ALWAYS
Everybody, Always. Such a simple title that says it all. By the time I put down this book, I had laughed out loud and cried ugly tears more than I could count. But most importantly, by the time I finished this book I felt compelled to look at my life and all the people in it a different way.
So what is the book Everybody, Always ? It’s a book all about loving others the way that Jesus did. In a series of short stories Bob Goff teaches us how to love others in all sorts of situations. He also demonstrates how to love those people that can seem like the most difficult to love (not just the unsavory, but those really evil people). Theres a story about a witch doctor in Uganda that still gives me the chills. Loving people like that can be difficult, and extremely scary. But thats the way Jesus did it. And at the end Bob Goff will have you feeling like you can love anyone no matter the circumstances!
If you haven’t picked-up this book yet, I highly recommend it. Bob Goff is the man. He is honestly and truly himself, and thats what I love about him. I’ve been fortunate to see him speak in person so when I read this book I could hear his voice and silly jokes rise off the page as if he were sitting right in front of me. He is an animated fella, and you will be able to pick up on that pretty fast.
This book was truly a blessing and it encouraged me to mindful of loving everyone around me in any situation. It reinforced the idea that I don’t need a lot of money to love others but instead I simply need to be creative and thoughtful. I also learned that being there for people means being patient and available. Yes, life is busy and we all have a lot going on. But Jesus didn’t tell people to call him back later because he was in the middle of something. He stopped and helped them. Everybody, Always was the perfect book to read to support the mission of the bounteous babe. I hope to be more loving, supportive, kind, and encouraging of everyone I come across during my time on earth.
