MAKE A DIFFERENCE: WANDS FOR WILDLIFE
I think mascara wands are magic. The way they are able to lift my lashes and elongate them always make me feel like a million bucks. I honestly look and feel my best when my lashes are reaching for the sky. Who knew one little tool, one tiny piece of plastic, could have so much power? Well mascara wands can do more than just transform lashes, they can also help animals!
Wildlife Organizations such as Appalachian Wildlife Refuge use mascara wands to remove fly eggs and larva from the fur of rescued animals. The bristles of mascara wands are perfect for easily catching onto this debris and removing it.
The organization accepts used mascara wands as they help rehabilitate animals. The mascara wands must first be washed in soap water. It’s a great way to re-use an item that would otherwise be thrown away and help animals at the same time. The wands can be mailed to the following address:
Appalachian Wildlife Refuge
P.O. Box 1211
Skyland, NC 28776
You can consider saving up multiple wands before mailing them. You can also hold a Wands for Wildlife drive and get your friends and family involved in helping out. A little tool can go a long way in helping animals!
