FRIDAY FAVES: BELIEVE IN KINDNESS
If you’ve been following my blog for only five minutes you would know that I am a huge believer in treating others with love and kindness. It is such a simple idea and yet something that most struggle with. I am a Christian and I believe in Jesus commandment of loving him and loving other like a brother or sister. We are all children under God and it breaks his heart when we hurt each other and tear each other down. I feel as people its easy to do that, especially when people look or behave differently from us. By labeling people, and fitting them into a category that is different than our own makes it easier to tear them down. But the truth is we are more a like and that no one life is more important than another. I learned a long time ago that we do not know the battles others around us are facing, and how a simple act of kindness can change someone’s life.
So thats why it’s obvious that I connect with Believe in Kindness— an organization whose mission it is to empower younger generations through kindness and confidence. They have a variety of different projects that have to feed this mission. For example, The Super Book List is a project where they provide books of empowerment to girls in an orphanage in Peru. I love a good book and feel like books are amazing tools that help shape lives. In addition Believe in Kindness also has various products for sale in their Kindness Shop that help fund some of their projects.
I decided to purchase the Be Kind [Always] Hat. This baseball cap comes in four different colors and benefits the knitting stories project. I love that when I wear this hat I am spreading a simple yet powerful message for all to see. I think that sometimes its easy to get caught up in the moment, but respect and kindness should be at the forefront of any interaction with another human being. It’s awesome that Believe in Kindness was able to create a product that has the power to change everyone who sees it. Oh and I forgot to mention that these hats also provide a source of income for the women in Peru that make these hats. I love this awesome product and all the goodness that it brings!
